OUT AND ABOUT

With so much in the area to explore this area makes a fabulous holiday destination.  Situated on the border of Wales and England there are numerous things to enjoy.

LOCAL AMENITIES
Churchstoke is 3 miles away with a large Co-op (Harry Tuffins), petrol station, a launtrette and a cafe.
Next door is Dairy Dreams Ice Cream scoop station and milk made on their farm.
Kerry Vale Vineyard is 2 minutes up the road, sample the wine from their vineyard.
Mellington Hall is a local hotel 1 1/2 miles away which has a bar and serves food.
Montgomery is 3 miles away with a Spar shop, The Dragon hotel, Cafes and some lovely shops such as Bunners the hardware store.
 
Bishops Castle is 6 miles and has a range of fabulous pubs and quirky shops and cafes.  The Castle Hotel, The Three Tuns and The Bells all do food.  Other pubs incluce The Kings and the Vaults.
The towns of Newtown and Welshpool are about 10 miles away.

EXCELLENT LOCAL WALKING

Offa’s Dyke Path which which passes ½ mile away, runs alongside the border between England and Wales, Offa's Dyke Path is a beautiful 177-mile National Trail
The campsite looks up towards the Kerry Ridgeway, which is ancient path that is 15 miles long. It holds a long tradition as a trade and drovers’ route from Wales to the lowland English markets.
The hills of Churchstoke (4 miles) include Roundton (a nature reserve), Corndon, Todleth and Lan Fawr.
The Shropshire Way Main Route is a long distance path of some 200 miles and passes close by in Bishops Castle.
Cardingmill Valley and the Long Mynd are designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. (35m drive)
Wild swim in the water reservior
The Stipersones range is  a 5 mile summit ridge which is crowned by several jagged outcrops of rock, which may be seen silhouetted against the sky (30m drive)
FURTHER AFIELD

Within easy driving distance of the historic market towns of Shrewsbury and Ludlow which provide a wide range of attractions such as Ludlow Castle. 

Powys Castle at Welshpool is well worth a visit as is Stokesay Castle at Craven Arms.

Chester is also just an hour away.

A little further away is the historic town of Ironbridge with its famous bridge and the fascinating Ironbridge Gorge museums - including Blists Hill Victorian Town

THE WELSH COAST

The Welsh coast at Aberystwyth and Aberdovey are also with easy drive within 1 ½ hours and makes for a great day out.

Aberdovey is a thriving little harbour resort set within the Snowdonia National Park, where the river Dyfi meets the blue waters of Cardigan Bay.
